Chapter 3 Reflection Chapter 3 was about intercultural communication, covering the effects cultures have on communication. It refers to the different communications between different cultures, culture impacts on society (is it positive or negative?), and gender roles in society (which can also be considered stereotypes). Of course, living in Hialeah, you have a personal understanding of intercultural communication, whether it is positive or negative. I honestly feel like I have more of a negative experience with this, mainly because my Spanish is not that good. I can get by with the little I know, but I can’t fully connect with those around me. With Hialeah being full of Cubans and may other Hispanics, sometimes it makes me feel left out because there are many things they can relate to that I can’t, and that is perfectly fine.
